【摘要】:Organiccoatingsonexteriorexposurearesubjectedtoattackbydegradingelementsoftheweather,particularlyultravioletlight,oxygen,andwater.Thispracticemaybeusedforevaluatingtheprotectivebehaviorofpolishfilmappliedtoacoating.Thispolish-coatedcoatingisthenexposedinanapparatusthatproducesultravioletradiation,temperature,andwatercondensationforagiventimeperiod.Nosinglelightexposureapparatus,withorwithoutwater,canbespecifiedasadirectsimulationofnaturalexposure.Thispracticedoesnotimplyaspecificcorrelationwithoutdoorexposure.Itis,however,usefulinscreeningtheprotectivequalityofapolishwithinthetestparameter.1.1ThispracticecoverstheselectionoftestconditionsfromPracticeG53tobeemployedforexposuretestingofpolish-coatedpaint,relatedcoatings,andmaterials.Thispracticecoversthebasicprinciplesandoperatingproceduresforusingfluorescentultraviolet(UV)andcondensationapparatustosimulatethedeteriorationcausedbysunlightandwaterasrainordew.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
